Before installation day
Pre-installation checklist
- Rough opening is plumb, level, and square within ¼ inch
- Sub-floor under the sill track is level and structurally sound
- Header and jambs are in place and ready for guide tracks — panels rest on the bottom track
- Sill pan and waterproofing membrane installed and dried
- Flashing tape applied per building code requirements
- Wall framing confirmed plumb (use 6-foot level)
- Electrical rough-in complete if motorized option ordered
- Site clear of debris — 6-foot clearance around opening
- Delivery access confirmed for door panel transport

Installation day
Six-step process
Receive and inspect
Unbox all panels and hardware before the crew arrives. Check each panel for shipping damage and confirm panel count against the packing list. Report any damage to FlowDoors within 48 hours of delivery.
Set the sill track
Fasten the sill track to the prepared sill pan using the provided stainless fasteners. Use a 4-foot level across the full opening width — shim as needed to achieve level within 1/16 inch. Apply sealant under the track before final fastening.
Install the top guide track
Mount the top guide track to the header per the supplied drawings. It guides panel movement along the opening — it does not carry panel weight. The system is designed with a ¼-inch gap at the top and bottom of each panel between the top guide and the sill track. Confirm the top guide is parallel to the sill track within 1/8 inch across the full span. Plumb the jamb posts before securing.
Set the panels in place
Starting from the fixed jamb, set each panel onto the bottom track in sequence. Panel weight rests on the sill track and bottom rollers — the panels are not hung. Connect each panel to the top guide per the installation sequence. Wheel height is set at the factory; verify the ¼-inch top and bottom clearance and even gaps between panels as each panel is positioned.
Calibrate hardware
Adjust the multi-point locking system per the hardware documentation supplied with your order. Test the locking bar engagement at each point. Adjust keep plates as needed until the door locks smoothly without lifting. Lubricate pivot points with silicone lubricant.
Final seal and weatherstrip
Install the weather seals and astragal per the sequence supplied with your order. Test the full open and close cycle five times. Check for air infiltration with a smoke pencil if possible. Register the installation with FlowDoors to activate warranty.
